Celebration of Life

Death: The word people are single-handedly most afraid of. Hitting your expiry date, becoming but a spirit, a memory.

Today was the funeral of a young woman by the name of Stephanie Bertrand. She was a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a spouse, a friend, and a co-worker. Her life was cut short because of a boating accident. Through her family and friends I have gotten to know Stephanie a bit more then I did before, and I am thankful for that. The reason I am thankful is because she was such a great person and she lead by example. She was outgoing, friendly, positive, and much more from what I gathered. She always smiled, lived life to the fullest, and took really good care of herself. She loved fitness, motorcycles, and dogs.

Through my journey of life I have learned one thing...we all have an unknown expiry date. A date that marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another spiritual one. Nothing is ever promised to you except for the fact that one day we won't walk this earth.

Although I have talked about this before, yet another friend of mine has gone. It's another simple reminder to be a good person and live life to the fullest. Do the things that you never dared think you would do, try new things, travel, fall in love with something or someone, try to see pass faults, and forgive.

The word "funeral" chills my bones. Why mourn great lives when you can celebrate them. People come into our lives to change them. They come to teach us something valuable and it's our responsibility to accept it. In other words, be happy, thankful, and grateful that someone that amazing crossed your path in life. Celebrate their existence and what they taught you. After all, you wouldn't be the person you are today without them.

Let me end this post about an amazing girl that loved life by saying rest in peace Stephanie and may you become the most beautiful guardian angel that overlooks on us. You will never be forgotten!
